DISAPPEARING WONDER

Draw back the curtains of time to catch a rare glimpse of the Baobab’s history. It once watched light dance on a river now dry, an ox wagon trundling past its canopy reflecting silvery in recent puddles. It saw the moon rise orange and set silver, the sun scorch the earth and the clouds balloon white before feeding the mycelium. Gnarled and silent they wait, watch and witness.
